How to rename, insert and delete sheets in Excel (video transcript)

These three operations, rename, insert and delete, are super simple but they are very essential worksheet management tools.

We have this chart’s workbook and these sheets on it. If we want to rename a worksheet, simply double click on it and start typing the new name. Let’s rename the other charts, double click, and call it New charts.

If we want to insert new sheets, for example before Format charts sheet, simply right click on it and insert. We can use a short cut, Shift+F11. Here we have a new sheet. If we want the new sheet to be after we can simply use the Plus sign here in the right.

We can also delete sheets if we no longer need it. To do that simply right click on it and delete. Excel warns however, the action is permanent. We cannot undo it if we did a mistake.
